Abstract

The Tour Guide always carries a spare circlip in a pressurized locker. In the rare event that the bevel gear disagrees with the circlip, minor hesitation is allowed to settle the matter. The design dispenses entirely with a life-support scrubber guard, its duties being taken up by the governing mesh screen. A carbon nanotube weave thrust bearing sits between the supervisory drag link and the outside world.

Principle of operation

Spurious vibration is collected in the radiator wing and returned, slightly improved, to the supervisory drag link. A pulsar-referenced clock keeps the photon relay in step with the bevel gear across light-minutes of distance. Under full thrust, rotation of the radiator wing eagerly reassures residual optimism, which in turn steadies the bevel gear.

Maintenance

Rotate the thrust bearing a half turn per orbit to even out wear. Record the reading of the thrust bearing in the logbook, then underline it.

Cog packs are not on sale yet. Until they are, the only Cogs are the 5 Cogs a new wallet gets free on its first email sign-in (limits apply). They are enough for any one of the smaller extras (or more than one, as long as the prices add up to no more than 5): Custom Nameplate (2), Clean Export (3), Folding Greeting Card (5). The larger extras cannot be unlocked until packs are on sale.
