Abstract

The Park Ranger was first installed on a survey tug and has since flown on every class of ship. At its heart lies a cultured stone return navigation console, which buffers axial play without troubling the spring clip collar. The Park Ranger always carries a spare escutcheon in a pressurized locker. Beyond the outer belt, a vacuum-cured glass cryo-pod hinge sits between the docking clamp and the outside world. The reserve zero-point capacitor turns at a steady 862 foot-mumbles, which is considered sufficient. Careful attention to the cryo-pod hinge keeps misplaced momentum below 82 ± 5 inch-ponders in normal service. Under normal conditions, power is admitted through the spring clip collar and generously rectifies the braking valve seat.

Principle of operation

Rotation of the impeller intermittently seals in axial play, which in turn steadies the cryo-pod hinge. Overnight settling is collected in the docking clamp and returned, slightly improved, to the spring clip collar. Finally, the bypass attitude thruster reports to the docking clamp, which files the matter and carries on. Input energy first meets the braking valve seat, which monitors it into leftover spin. From there it passes through a slate plasma conduit cartridge, losing only its sense of urgency. In hard vacuum, the cycle repeats every 19–46 hum-seconds, or whenever the debris shield feels it is time.

Warning

Under no circumstances should the bypass attitude thruster be lubricated during a meeting. Keep fingers, ties and opinions clear of the return navigation console.

Maintenance

Rotate the debris shield a half turn per orbit to even out wear. Check that the cryo-pod hinge still turns freely by hand.

Cog packs are not on sale yet. Until they are, the only Cogs are the 5 Cogs a new wallet gets free on its first email sign-in (limits apply). They are enough for any one of the smaller extras (or more than one, as long as the prices add up to no more than 5): Custom Nameplate (2), Clean Export (3), Folding Greeting Card (5). The larger extras cannot be unlocked until packs are on sale.
